Congratulations to Beacon House for being the beacon of hope and recovery for so many over the last 60 years.
It is with great respect and appreciation to the staff and board of the Beacon House for the legacy they have created over the past 60 years. The field of substance use treatment has changed so dramatically over the past 60 years that many providers have not been able to survive let alone thrive. Due to the leadership and commitment of the Beacon House team, they are a shining example of what a mission and values driven organization can achieve. Thank you for all you have given to the community.
Congratulations to Beacon House and all the wonderful staff on your 60th anniversary. Please continued to provide recovery and hope to so many individuals and families.
Congratulations on 60 years of helping people find recovery, and thank you for being part of The National Association.

I really would like to thank everyone from the Beacon House for helping me with direction and love when I most needed it. You all are a blessing that my family and I will never forget. You taught me that I deserve better things in my life and gave me the skills I need to be a better father son and brother as well as productive member of society I have became a better employee and I can reach for my dreams and accomplish more than I ever imagined. You all have a special place in my heart and I can not thank you enough. Everyone deserves a place that helps teach us to bridge our emotions with our hearts and how to step out of the darkness and into a magnificent light filled with love, self empowerment, and empathy for others. I am so very blessed for my time with you all so thank you from the bottom of my heart. Much love
June 18th of 2017 landed on Father’s Day and I was being driven to The Beacon House by my wife, children, parents and younger brother. As we were passing by Fisherman’s Wharf I could see so many families and I could only imagine that they were celebrating their Fathers, and here I was, being driven to a Rehab, It felt like the worst day of my life, but little did I know that it would become the best day of my life! I went in with an open heart and mind and absorbed EVERYTHING that we were taught about addiction. I made the best of my time there and as a result of that I had an amazingly good time and quickly learned that I could have fun without drugs and alcohol which was a VERY important lesson to walk back into society with. The golfing lessons with PGA’s own Ducky O’Toole, surfing lessons with the professional “Big Wave” surfer Daryl “Flea” Virostko and the equine therapy that was mixed in with the drug/alcohol and life lessons were SUPERB. And last but not least (my favorite) the group therapy with the world class Psychologist Dr. Larimer, counselors Megan, Josh and Bonnie was a place where I felt safe to talk about everything and anything in my life that had a foothold on me, Dr “L” helped me to identify those things and character defects that have now helped me to be a better person. I will forever be indebted to Dr. Larimer, Kate, Megan and the rest of the staff that was pulling for me to help me stay when my insurance decided to cut my inpatient benefits, I believe their efforts truly saved my life because I was able to continue to learn for another 20 days. The comraderie and friendships that were built there I believe will last a lifetime. Also, kudos to the amazing top of the line chefs in Jim, Kirk and Mario who did a FANTASTIC job with all the gourmet dishes, the food was to die for!!! Thank you Beacon House, I love you all!!!
I didn't want to go to rehab in the beginning but just had to. My family found the beacon house and i agreed to go. That was the best thing i could have even done for myself. I learned all the different aspects of addiction and a lot about myself. I especially loved the food. I felt ready to try life a healthier way when my 28 days were over. Now 9 years sober and being able to teach surfing through the beacon house is the coolest thing ever! Thank you beacon house for all you do for many. Darryl Flea Virostko
Thank you The Beacon House for saving so many lives. Thank you for being such a community partner. Hope to celebrate another 60 in Pacific Grove
Beacon House encompasses much more than a beautiful, Victorian-era mansion. There is a feeling of hope and community shared by the countless number of dedicated staff, generosity of alumni and volunteers, and the generations of families who been helped over the years. I am grateful and honored to be part of the team committed to offering treatment for a lifetime of recovery from alcohol and other drugs.
Thank you Beacon House for giving me a second chance. I loved the program and would highly recommend it to anyone else looking to find recovery from alcohol and drug addiction.
Thank you for all you have done for our recovery community and beyond. So many lives have been turned-around and families saved, because of the good work you do.
